ISKOnnect

ISKOnnect offers free internet and computer services inside the Office of Student Affairs (OSA) to support students’ academic needs. It provides a stable internet connection and three (3) personal computer units for research, file editing, and other academic-related activities. With a usage limit of 2 hours per session, ISKOnnect ensures that every student can maximize their time for productive learning and academic tasks.

ISKOnnect is available at the Office of Student Affairs every Tuesdays to Fridays from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM.

Eligibility

ISKOnnect is exclusively available to currently enrolled students of UP Manila.

Reservation and Access

Reservations and session tracking are managed through an online system. A Google Sheet will be provided to view available time slots.

Students can reserve their slots by sending an email to Mr Homer Revilleza, Student Activities Program Head at hcrevilleza@up.edu.ph.

Message:

a. Unique Username

b. Surname, Given Name

c. Course

d. Student Number

e. Requested Date of ISKOnnect access

f. Requested Time of ISKOnnect access

Walk-ins are also allowed, provided that a time slot and a computer unit is available. Before using the designated computer, students must show their UPM ID, and log in by writing the required details in the OSA logbook.

Each student is allowed a maximum of 2 hours of computer usage per day.

Allowed and Prohibited Activities

Students may use the computers for research, document editing, and other academic-related tasks such as:

Photo editing (e.g., Canva for academic purposes);

Presentation creation (e.g., PowerPoint, Google Slides);

Data analysis and computation (e.g., Excel and Google Sheets);

Online learning and course-related activities (e.g., watching educational videos, attending virtual lectures);

Note: Students must bring their own headset or earphones when watching educational videos.

For attending virtual lectures, ensure that the professor allows turning off the camera, as no webcams are available.

Writing and formatting academic papers (e.g., thesis, essays, reports)

Students are not allowed to:

Play games online games;

Download unauthorized software;

Plug in external hard drives;

Save passwords/personal files/academic work to the computer.

Conduct and Responsibilities

Students must handle all computers and accessories with care to ensure their longevity and functionality.

Food and/or drinks are not allowed to maintain cleanliness and prevent damage to the equipment.

Students must report technical issues regarding the use of the computers to an OSA Student Assistant (SA) or OSA staff.
